Donation Station Express: How to use Express Mode offline
The Donation Station Lite range is designed to help you fundraise in any situation, regardless of the availability of an internet connection. Whilst we recommend taking payments with an internet connection to limit the possibility of the transaction failing later (if for example, the donor does not have the funds available at the point of upload), if there is patchy or no internet available then switching to offline mode will allow for transactions to be approved in the absence of a network.
IMPORTANT: Any transactions taken whilst the device is in Offline mode – regardless of the network connection status – will need to be uploaded for processing at a later point when there is an internet connection. This is a manual process and must be completed for the transactions to be sent to the banks for processing.
To accept an offline payment, the device needs to be placed into Offline Mode. If it is already in Offline Mode, this will be indicated by the text “Offline Mode” displayed on the Home screen.
To place the device into Offline mode and enter Express mode:
From the home screen, press the red button.
Enter the manager passcode. If you do not know what this is, then speak with your manager or contact our support team.
Select Enter Offline Mode from the menu. The device will then return to the home screen and will display “Offline Mode” onscreen.
Return to the manager menu by pressing the red button and re-entering the manager passcode.
Select Enter Express Mode from the menu.
Enter the desired amount that you wish to take donations for and press the green button.
IMPORTANT: Remember that at this point the device is ready to accept contactless payments so be careful not to place the card reader near any of your contactless payment methods (like a smart watch, phone, or contactless card).
